Description
The liebermann reagent is ideal as a secondary test for making positive IDs.
It is able to test for a vast number of compounds including MDMA/ecstasy, mescaline, heroin, 2C-B, MDA and many others – check out our testing page for more information. It can also detect dangerous PMA and PMMA.
These reagents have a shelf life of 12+ months when stored in the fridge. All our products are shipped in high quality glass bottles to reduce degradation from light, moisture and reactions with plastics which will shorten shelf lives. After removing from the fridge make sure you let the reagent warm up and dry off before opening the lid. If the lid is not properly sealed, the reagents will react with humidity and go bad within 2 months.
Each bottle will give approximately 30 tests.
As with all reagent tests, this reagent contains strong acid and should be handled with care. Please note that this uses matrix-bound test technology and is not a liquid. We no longer sell the old liquid test technology.
The Liebermann reagent contains under 4% sodium nitrite by mass and has an estimated toxicity of 4 g/kg orally in rats as a result. It must obviously NOT be eaten. It does not burn cellulose spontaneously and is not considered oxidising as a result.
